David is working towards his PhD in Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. The IST program at Penn State is an interdisciplinary program that allows him to combine his life experiences, undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Philosophy, and master’s degree in Intercultural Relations. David’s interests focus around the intersection of cognition, culture, and technology. His primary research is focused on information system ontologies as manifestations of cultural schemas. He is also interested in information metaphors and visualization, the philosophy of information, and tagging and folksonomies. David expects to complete his degree in 2009.
